Scalloped Ovals

Haven't made any cards for ages, but feel I should get cracking with Christmas cards. One a week between now and Christmas will not be enough! This card is for my son, who like most men loves monkeys. It has a little bit of flower soft on the hat and is coloured with copics.

The scallop on the monkey card is made using a silhouette die cutting machine, whilst the oval below was cut with my new nestabilities. Both cards are approx 6" by 4". I prefer the nestabilities scallops but I am surprised how small they are. Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to use the tiny dies.

This card is a random selection of things, that tie together quite well with the colours. The background is glitter card.

Hi Anne, Love the wedding photo! Re: the tiny dies, I have got a couple of Nesties and the smallest one in each always seems too small to be of any use. My only thought for a tiny scalloped oval is if you are near a Hobbycraft. They do packs of 6/7 oval papier mache boxes for 39p, and the smallest ones would probably be lovely decorated with a scalloped oval in a pretty paper, with a chocolate or tiny piece of jewellery inside at Christmas. Just a thought ....

Hi Anne - nice to see you back again, and your new cards are beautiful. I agree the very small Nestie shapes are not very useful. I have only ever used the larger ones, but you got me thinking!! Perhaps a single initial, or an age number could be cut out with the little ones, or a name spelt out with individual cut-out letters. If I think of anything else, I'll get back to you!
Love, Sylvia x
PS: The wedding photos are fabualous.
